We spent far too much time in Volendam (one hour of free time on top of the visits is far too much for the size of the site), but we didn't visit the village of Marken at all, as indicated. Taking a 30-minute boat trip to avoid visiting the village is totally pointless. The guide took us straight to the clog factory and we got back on the bus. No time for sightseeing. What's more, we didn't visit the village of Edam as announced when we bought our tickets online. The program was not worth what we paid. Fortunately, the guide was friendly.
