The canal cruise is a highlight of any stay in Amsyerdam. I appreciated the French explanations of the city's development over the centuries. A stroll along the water's edge, which quickly shows you around the city and counterbalances the euphoria of the center. Amaze, a great experience for electro music fans.

We went to a few attractions during our visit but I would say this is the one we spoke about the most. It was enjoyable from start to finish, we really loved the mirror maze where our images came up! We managed to snap them all and make a collage of them. Thanks so much Amaze!

I was impressed by the special collections immediately. The examples of wealth and elite craftsmanship in the past centuries were absolutely unreal to fathom. I also appreciate the acknowledgement that the people of these times and places wouldn't have the wealth they acquired without the sickening slavery and racism their societies thrived off of. Aswell as the depictions of Jesus being a man of color in some paintings

I didn’t really know what to expect from the Heineken Experience, but it completely exceeded my expectations. It was fun, interactive, and surprisingly engaging — I would definitely visit again. The Moco Museum was also great, especially the digital art rooms. I loved the colors and the overall atmosphere, although it did feel a bit crowded at times with too many people in the same rooms. Overall, a really enjoyable experience and a great combo to do in Amsterdam.

There were four of us there (2 couples) and we were all very impressed! The check-in was friendly and uncomplicated. Our guide spoke good English, was very relaxed and told us lots of really interesting things about Amsterdam. There were blankets for everyone against the cold, so there was nothing to complain about. Experiencing Amsterdam from the water is a completely different experience! We would come again!

Both the Rijksmuseum and the Lights Festival boat tour was a great experience for my first time in Amsterdam! Museum staff and service was exceptional, they allowed us to enter outside of the booked window time after we explained to them our situation and cause of delayed arrival. The boat tour was lovely, great guide who was very friendly and got to see the great art pieces a part of the festival. The hot chocolate was perfect for us in the windowless boat, since it was cold.

Amsterdam is full of great bars, but nothing comes close to the frosty thrill of the XtraCold Icebar, a frozen playground where everything from the walls to the glasses is carved from ice. Step inside this chilly hideout, sip your welcome drinks in a room that stays at -10°C, admire the ice sculptures, and enjoy a playful themed experience that feels part bar, part attraction.

Things to know before booking XtraCold Icebar Amsterdam tickets

  • Book in advance: XtraCold Icebar is really popular, especially on weekends and during the summer. Make sure to reserve your tickets at least 2 weeks ahead to lock in your preferred time slot, because last-minute tickets often sell out.
  • Ticket types: Your options include standard skip the line entry or combo tickets. Standard tickets give you direct, skip-the-line access to only the Icebar, while combo tickets let you enjoy the Icebar along with other popular experiences like the Heineken experience, a 1-hour Amsterdam canal cruise, the Rijksmuseum , Amsterdam light festival cruise or AMAZE Amsterdam.
  • Upgrades: If you want a little extra without going for a full combo, you can upgrade your standard entry ticket to include a 1-hour canal cruise. It’s an easy way to add more to your day without juggling separate bookings.
  • Ticket inclusions: Every ticket comes with a warm coat and gloves, plus three complimentary drinks, where you can choose from beer, shots, or orange juice. Combo tickets may also include audio or live guides depending on the attraction.

Visitor tips

  • Book 2 weeks ahead of time, especially during peak tourist season in summer.
  • Arrive at least 20 minutes before your slot to grab your first drink in the lounge and get your thermal jacket and gloves.
  • Dress for the cold. Even with the provided coat and gloves, wear closed shoes, warm socks, and layered clothes.
  • Cold temperatures can drain your phone’s battery faster, so keep your device in an inner pocket when not shooting.
  • Use your first token in the warm lounge. Mixed cocktails are only served there. Inside the Icebar you can get beer, shots, or juice in ice glasses.
  • Plan for a short stay inside the Icebar. The ice chamber is about minus 10 degrees Celsius and most visitors spend 20 to 30 minutes inside before heading back to the lounge.
  • Do not touch the ice sculptures or walls with bare hands, as it can damage the ice.
  • Avoid bringing big bags or bulky items. The bar has no lockers, so a small backpack or purse is better to keep your belongings with you.
