#Travel & Tours staff and ticketing officer are very friendly & helpful. The bus conductor was very informative, assisted us with our cabin size luggage & the bus condition is clean. I went to the Rijksmuseum at 9:00 a.m. (tip!) and headed straight to the second floor to see the masterpieces, such as *The Night Watch* and *The Milkmaid*. You can easily follow the audio tour on your phone. There’s a lot to see, so be sure to set aside at least 2.5 hours. Afterward, relax for a bit in the beautiful garden. In the afternoon, I went to the Moco Museum, just a stone’s throw from the Rijksmuseum. This completed my journey through art history (from 1000 to 2000)! You’ll be done with the Moco Museum faster; without a combo ticket, I wasn’t willing to pay the regular admission price for it. It was very impressive to see the paintings up close and recognize the brushstrokes of the Dutch masters. At the Moco Museum, you’ll see many reproductions, though the stories behind the artworks are fascinating.

From the moment you step into Villa Alsberg — a gorgeous 1904 townhouse right on Museumplein — the contrast between the classic architecture and the bold, rebellious art inside sets the tone perfectly. It feels intentional, almost playful, as if the museum itself is winking at you. The Banksy collection alone is worth the entry. Seeing Girl with Balloon, Flower Thrower, and Laugh Now up close — not on a screen, not on a wall somewhere in the city, but right there in front of you — hit differently than I expected. These aren’t just “cool images.” In person, they carry real weight. But what surprised me most was how well the curators balanced the permanent collection with the rest of the space. The flow from room to room felt natural, never overwhelming. Each space had its own personality, and the immersive elements kept things dynamic without feeling gimmicky. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful, and the audio guide added real depth to the experience. I ended up spending nearly two hours there — much longer than I planned. Your Heineken Experience ticket has a fixed timeslot chosen during booking. You must enter the museum exactly at this specific time. Your voucher needs to be scanned at the Heineken Experience entrance first. Your canal cruise ticket is an open ticket, meaning no timeslot is pre-allocated. You must redeem your open ticket inside one of the Gray Line Amsterdam/Blue Boat Company ticket offices to be assigned a timeslot for the cruise. Once redeemed, you can board the next available boat at either of the two docks listed below:
- Dock 1: Opposite Hard Rock Cafe (Stadhouderskade 501). Take tram 1, 2, 5, 11, or 12 and stop at Leidseplein. The dock is a 2-min walk from there.

Heineken Experience + Amsterdam Canal Cruise

Your Heineken Experience ticket has a fixed timeslot chosen during booking. You must enter the museum exactly at this specific time. Your voucher needs to be scanned at the Heineken Experience entrance first. Your canal cruise ticket is an open ticket, meaning no timeslot is pre-allocated. You must redeem your open ticket inside one of the Gray Line Amsterdam/Blue Boat Company ticket offices to be assigned a timeslot for the cruise. Once redeemed, you can board the next available boat at either of the two docks listed below:
- Dock 1: Opposite Hard Rock Cafe (Stadhouderskade 501). Take tram 1, 2, 5, 11, or 12 and stop at Leidseplein. The dock is a 2-min walk from there.
- Dock 2: Opposite Heineken Experience (Stadhouderskade 550). Take tram 2, 5, or 12 and stop at Rijksmuseum (5-min walk) or take Metro 52 and stop at Vijzelgracht (2-min walk).

Amsterdam Canal Cruise

Most boats have a roof that closes fully and have central heating on board. So even if it is cold outside, you will be warm inside the boat. The boats mostly sail within the city centre, where the water stays very calm, so they can sail in almost any weather.
If a cruise cannot take place due to extreme weather circumstances, the company will contact you to reschedule your ticket to another date.
